A modern approach to managing your health

We believe in taking a non-diet approach to health. As Registered Dietitians, our interventions are informed by evidenced-based nutritional science. We may also incorporate elements of Mindful and Intuitive Eating theories when clinically appropriate. Our style is person-centered and collaborative, in which we work together to get to the root of your nutrition issues, leading to positive and lasting change.

We also provide nutritional counseling for other health issues, such as GI health, PCOS, and oncology.

Transformative care

We are a group of registered dietitians who specialize in eating disorders and disordered eating. As a team, we assist clients by providing nutritional counseling, coaching, and more. For those in eating disorder recovery, we will work with your treatment team to ensure the best care.

We want you to get the care you deserve.

Setting Up A Treatment Team

For most people with a diagnosed eating disorder and wanting to make a full recovery, a multi-disciplinary treatment team is essential for effective recovery in an outpatient setting. After the assessment is complete, we will help you establish a team of at least a medical doctor and therapist specializing in treating eating disorders. We can assist you to find experts to work with and we can make referrals at your request. If a team is already in place, we will join the team and introduce ourselves to the team members via phone or e-mail.

If you have reservations about establishing a treatment team, you can bring that up to us after your initial assessment. Ultimately, it is about providing tailored support that is right for you. The value of the treatment team is that we can all collaborate and work with you to provide the best treatment program that can be offered in an outpatient setting. You are at the center of the care team. We are here to support you through the recovery process.

Typical Outpatient Treatment Plan

If we decide to work together, you will start with nutrition sessions either weekly or every other week. We will confer with the treatment team and make a recommendation to you.

Below are some of the types of activities we may work on:

  • Nutrition therapy sessions, focused on setting goals and reflecting on progress toward goals.

  • Understanding the science of nourishment, your body’s nutrition needs, and normal eating patterns good for your body and your wellness.

  • Dialoguing skills to help you replace disordered thinking and behaviors with new healthy self-care behaviors.

  • Overcoming food fears.

  • Emotional and stress management coping skills.

  • Meal planning.

  • Grocery shopping.

  • Meal or snack sessions.

  • Building intuitive eating skills.

  • Establishing realistic and balanced exercise pattern

How it works

Our approach for everyone is to start with an initial 50 minute nutrition assessment then 50-minute follow up sessions that will occur every 1-2 weeks. In this time, we will be able to learn from you what your past experiences have been and what you are currently looking for in nutrition support for your recovery. We will be able to give you some skills and goals to work on based on where you are at right now.
